It definitely runs large! If you want a fit similar to that shown on the model, I would recommend sizing down.
I am a true XL or 16 in EVERYTHING I own by LLBean. I initially ordered this jacket in XL and it was huge. Sleeves to the knuckles and 4 inches too large in the body. I could have worn two big chunky sweaters under it. The fabric is more substantial than I had expected and it has a good and comfortable amount of give thanks to the Elastane.

This is a great denim jacket! Amazing quality and super comfortable. I got a size small, as I usually do, and it’s a perfect fit. It’s soft and fashionable and I will be wearing it a ton for years. I had tried a couple of other jackets and brands and this one was perfect.

I have been looking for a jean jacket for a long while. This one is a classic denim tone that works well with all shades of denim from dark rinse to faded barely blue. The stretch provides a “just right” amount of ease for added comfort, without the jacket losing its classic structure. I am
a petite medium in LL Bean tops and a petite 10 in jeans. The medium regular was fine. – just roll the cuffs up. I wish it had been offered in a petite for a more perfect fit but I wear it all the time this spring just the same. Very nice way to top off spring skirts and dresses.

I love this jacket! It’s a throwback to my younger years but much more comfortable. Slightly bigger in size, perfect for a hoodie or sweater under the jacket. Some reviewer didn’t like the brass/metal buttons, well that is how they were made! I love the retro look! I wear this all the time!

I did a fairly complete search for a blue jean jacket and am very pleased with the LL Bean jacket. I love it. Firm enough for a cool evening. Structure to it but soft and comfy. Tough enough to throw in the back seat and grab as needed. Also for those of us under 5’5″, it is a fine length. Not hitting the frumpy low hip but not cropped to the waist. It’s good and the pockets are very good. Truly i love it so much I bought one in small and one in medium for the sweater days. The small is to wear over a tank or maxi dress, a bit more fitted.
